Riviera Maya & Cancun area Eco Tax

The government of Quintana Roo has added an Environmental Tax which will take effect on February 1, 2025. This is a payment for environmental sanitation, applicable to all visitors. This tax will have to be paid directly at your Hotel and it ranges from 35–80 MXN pesos, (approx. $2 USD - $4.5 USD) per room, per night determined by each property.

Departure Tax for Quintana ROO Cancun and Cozumel airports

We would like to inform you that as of April 1, 2021, the state of Quintana Roo requires all foreign tourists to pay a tax of $250 Mexican pesos (around $13 USD). The payment can be made prior to travel, upon arrival, or during the stay, as the tax will be imposed upon departure. Visitors will have the option to access https://visitax.gob.mx/, where they will complete a brief questionnaire and make the payment. Every tourist departing the state of Quintana Roo must show proof of payment at the airport before boarding.
